vintage GiGi Young dress / 1960s silk shantung / pink flowers full skirt M
Stunning silk shantung GiGi Young, New York label dress, circa early 1960s vintage.
GiGi Young was a sister label to Suzy Perette, active from the late 1950s through 1966; as such, quite rare.
Carnation pink silk with flora in hot pink and deep fuchsia, slightly linear/ abstract interpretation in a beautiful color combo.
Lightweight silk with wonderful sheen to the weave- the shantung club texture adds depth to the pattern.
Sleeveless, with wide shoulder straps and square neckline, six panel construction both front and back.
Self ties at front waist, these are lined for a bit of form/ stiffness and can be tied front or back.
Hidden zip up the back center.
Tapered fit bodice, slimmest through the waist with full skirt and built in mesh petticoat/ crinoline.
Condition is very good, with some minor flaws to note:
-very slight discoloration at the underarms, see photo
-very slight seam straining along the waistline to the silk- all seams are holding well but worth noting
-a smattering of five tiny holes at the front hips- see photo - if bow is worn forward, these all but disappear
Exceedingly clean and well kept- this rare dress is fresh and ready to debut!
2.25" wide shoulder straps (at tops of shoulders)
39" chest (19.5" armpit to armpit)
64" hip allowance
118" hem circumference
45" overall length
each side of the waist tie is approximately 22" in length, just over 1" in width (set at front side waist)
