Incredible black wool blazer with embroidered velvet shawl collar, best on a modern US 6- 8-smallish 10, circa 1940s vintage.
Nipped waistline, flared hips.
Scalloped swirl and dot embroidery of black coiled nylon on the rayon velvet outer collar edge, dot embroidery on the inner wool collar area.
Firmly padded shoulders, seamed construction to the nipped waist, flared to the hem, ends at upper hips with a flouncy shape.
Two shiny domed black plastic (resin?) buttons, next to each other at the waist- approximately 2" apart.
Fully lined in black acetate- type fabric, which is expertly tailored along the wool seams.
Triangular cut- away at the front hem where the panels overlap- accentuates the narrow waist.
Diagonal weave, lighter- mid weight.
No labels, size tag, designer info.
Beautifully made, wonderfully tailored.

In excellent condition, no issues to report, appears unworn.
A fantastic example of post- war fashions, this amazing blazer/ jacket is a covetable classic!
