vintage 1960s Enid Collins wooden purse Carriage Trade handbag jeweled box bag
A wonderful example of Enid Collins' work- vintage "Carriage Trade" train motif wooden bag with gem detailing, dated copyright 1962.
Shiny black (likely resin) U- shaped handle with gold ends allows for complete hinging.
Rectangular shape, black leather strap with brass turnlock closure at top center.
Black and gold painted horse, rider, and carriage with rhinestone and metal detail decorations throughout - all are in place.
"Carriage Trade" on the left bottom corner, "ec" and copyright circle on the right bottom corner.
Piano hinged, with two metal feet on the bottom.
Warm brown finish with tons of grain detail to the wooden box body.
The interior is spotless, with original round mirror attached to the underside of the lid.
Also marked "Enid Collins' Original Box Bag by Collins of Texas, hand decorated for you! Copyright 1962 Enid Collins" around the mirror.
Condition:
Minimal dings and denting to all eight corners, some very light surface scuffs and scratches throughout on the side and back panels, see photos.
Better than expected condition considering age, this has been very lovingly cared for and shows minor use only.
All stones are in place.
