vintage 1940s B 10 flight jacket USAAF WWII cloth bomber jacket 42
Olive drab cotton twill B 10 bomber jacket with faux fur collar and pile lining, circa early 1940s vintage.
Zip front with brass metal Conmar zipper, interior placket guard from lower chest to hem.
Tab button closure along underside of collar, buttons down when not in use.
Large patch pockets with buttoned flap closures on the front upper waist, interior left side pocket with snap closure.
Underarms and interior pocket are lined in nylon satin; sleeves and body are lined in synthetic pile lining.
Wool knit cuffs and hem.
Hook loop on inner collar is marked with what looks like "McGrow".
Black label reads "TYPE B-10 specification no.3157 size 42 stock no.8300-470715 order no. (30-053) 44-10476 W. & C. Clothing Co. property Air Forces. US Army".
Condition is solid and sturdy- very good overall, with the following issues of note:
-some light spotting and staining throughout, see photos
-decent sized hole on the outer layer of the inner right wool ribbed cuff- only through one layer- this could be touched up or ignored, at your option
-a few tiny holes to the rest of the wool ribbed trim (cuffs and hem), again, only through one layer
Buttons are original. Zipper works perfectly. Sturdy cotton twill outer still retains its sheen and feels like it would provide some water resistance.
A very rare, original WWII era jacket in somewhat worn yet exceedingly wearable condition- historical military clothing at it's best!
